Veneers in Bloomington, IN

Are your flawed front teeth meddling with your overall look and smile? Dental veneers are advanced restorations that can help with your smile makeover. At Baker Family Dentistry, we provide cosmetic veneers that conceal tooth imperfections like chips, cracks, and minor orthodontic problems.

What Are Veneers?

Dental veneers are super-thin plastic shells that are custom-designed to match the color of your natural enamel. They are made of transparent acrylic material and bonded to the teeth' front surface with dental adhesives.

Requirements for Veneers

  • Sufficient Enamel

Patients must have sufficient tooth enamel to qualify for the placement of veneers.

  • No Teeth Grinding

Patients with teeth grinding and clenching habits are at risk of damaging veneers.

  • Minor Cosmetic Issues

Dental veneers are planned to treat minor tooth problems like cracks, chips, cracks, or small gaps in your teeth. They cannot rectify more significant issues.

Benefits of Veneers

  • Hide Various Concerns

To enhance your smile, dental veneers can address various tooth imperfections, including persistent stains and minor misalignment.

  • Natural-Looking Results

Dental veneers can tremendously improve your smile while blending effortlessly with your natural teeth and significantly boosting confidence.

  • Durable Solution

Veneers are fabricated of solid and durable materials. With proper care and maintenance, they can last for a decade or more.

Process for Veneers

Dr. Lisa J Baker will first prepare the affected tooth by removing a small layer of enamel. This is undertaken to make the tooth's surface rougher and allow for the easy adherence of the veneer. It also ensures that the veneer will merge seamlessly with surrounding teeth without appearing bulky.

After preparation, impressions are taken, and temporary veneers are placed to safeguard the prepared teeth. The images are sent over to our lab for their fabrication. We will ensure that your permanent veneers match the color of your existing teeth.

Once the restorations are ready, you will have to come back for their final placement. We will remove the temporaries and bond the new veneers with strong dental adhesives.

Caring for Your Dental Veneers

Maintaining your dental veneers does not require any additional care other than routine brushing, flossing, and regular visits to the dental office. However, you should know that certain habits, like chewing ice and nail-biting, can put your restoration at risk of breaking. Patients who grind their teeth in sleep or play sports should protect their dental veneers with a customized mouthguard.
